In 1916, in order to participate to the war effort, CHAPAL builds chassis for 75mm canons in his Montreuil factory but also creates vests and suits for pilots in his Crocq factory. It then imagines the famous 1914 vest that will be worn among many others by Georges Guynemer, legendary pilot from « Escadrille des Cigognes ».
This grey leather jacket is inspired by the long coats worn by sailors, yet has been crafted into a short, waist-length style.
The Cardigan takes its name from Wales. Small jacket buttoned in wool of Merinos of the Pyrenees. For greater strength and more heat, the wool was boiled. As if to mark her membership in a club, "CHAPAL" was cut into a piece of leather and sewn on the left chest.
